This position will be at the heart of the Port operation; taking the lead on coordinating daily shipping operations and port logistics at Port of Middlesbrough.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordination and planning of vessels using AV Dawson’s berths.
- Continuous liaison daily with port operations personnel, agencies and customers, giving forward view and daily shipping updates.
- Build relationships and act as a point of contact between internal and external parties
- Analysis of data and production of reports.
- Utilise the customer relationship management system (CRM)
- Complete accurate job costings where required.
- Capture information and raise invoices, ensuring work is charged promptly.
- Support with customer account management, including maintaining a schedule of review meetings and contract renewals.
- Provide general administrative support within the Commercial, Marketing and shipping teams.
- Attend exhibitions, events and meetings when required, some of which can be outside of normal office hours/days.
This role requires someone who is highly organised, with the ability to prioritise work in order to meet deadlines. The successful candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as possessing a high level of interpersonal skills. Good IT skills with knowledge of Customer Management Systems (CRM) and Microsoft excel is desirable as well as experience of shipping or logistics work.
